Arcast® Software Version 22.1
Older version
Released on July 7, 2022
New Features and Functionality
- The Calculation of sensitivities feature is now enabled and disabled in the ribbon of the analysis editors.
- Sensitivity calculation is now enabled and disabled in the “Run analysis” section of the ribbon menu (next to the Run button) inside the analysis editors (Project editor, Tree editor, and Portfolio editor).
- This is now consistent with how Custom and Stochastic calculations are enabled and disabled.
- In previous versions, users had to right-click the analysis in the project list and then click the Run sensitivities button. This menu item has now been removed.
Updates
- Monthly data now use yearly inflation.
- This adjustment takes effect when monthly data is enabled.
- The inflation used when converting between real and nominal figures was previously calculated per month, but has been simplified to use yearly values for the following reasons:
- When input is in monthly values, the combination of using both monthly and yearly inflation gave minor differences in inflation, which affected the end results. This caused disruptions and situations of misinterpretation when comparing results, such as when comparing production revenue (based on monthly data and inflation) and entitlement revenue (based on yearly data and inflation), for example.
- Yearly inflation calculated after the monthly period was based on previously monthly inflations, which were challenging to track and quality assure.
- The previous monthly inflation calculation automatically used June (month number 6) as the real month, which will not be correct in all cases.
- There is no need to make changes in the Assumptions file:
- Monthly inflation for currencies is now simply not read or used, while monthly prices and currency conversion rates continue to be read and used.
- Tax depreciations are now reported per profile type in the Profiles report.
- Tax depreciations calculated for input profiles (i.e., investments) are now reported per profile type in the Profiles report.
- Previously, these were reported summed per depreciation type.
- Prices are now reported with a type description in the Report category column of the Profiles report. This type description can be manually changed by the user by editing Column F in the Assumptions configuration file.
- Years are now displayed per monthly column in the monthly input editor.
- Custom price sets that are set as Active are now displayed with bold font for easier recognition.
- When creating a new project, the default company in Analysis for company is set to the first company or company group in the list.
- The Compare analysis functionality has been renamed to Difference report.
Bug Fixes
- Corrected an issue with opening the Settings editor for projects where external data was enabled for one or more profiles that in some cases gave an error message because of missing monthly data.
- Corrected an issue with sensitivity analysis and monthly values that in certain situations incorrectly scaled monthly data.
- Corrected an issue with not being able to edit price settings for User base prices in custom price sets.
