Arcast® Software Version 25.1
Older version
Released on September 10, 2025
The software is now called the Arcast software. More updates:
New Features and Functionality
- Owner matrix editor:
- The implementation of a new owner matrix editor brings a better overview, is more intuitive than previous versions, and makes it easier to filter and group data.
- The matrix is no longer three-dimensional, but instead two-dimensional to allow the user to more easily see all the content in the matrix (such as companies and licenses).
- The user-modified layout for filtering and groupings is automatically saved and applied for each session using the editor.
- It is now possible to set the viewable range of years in addition to the number of decimals.
- The implementation of a new owner matrix editor brings a better overview, is more intuitive than previous versions, and makes it easier to filter and group data.
- Project files report:
- The new report replaces the previous Input profiles report, which has been removed in this version. It contains the same data as the previous report, with the following additions and modifications:
- Any calculated depreciations are reported per base investment profile.
- Any dependent profiles defined in the project are reported with the calculated data along with its base profile and rate.
- Any profiles (leasing) defined with investment equivalent calculations are reported both with the input cost profile and the calculated investment equivalent.
- Owner share information is now reported with a calculated owner share, which the project data has been scaled with during calculation. In addition, all companies that have owner shares in the project license(s) are listed with their respective owner shares.
- Break even calculations are reported.
- Custom tax profiles from tax calculations are reported.
- Please see the “Project profiles report” chapter in the reference manual for details.
- The new report replaces the previous Input profiles report, which has been removed in this version. It contains the same data as the previous report, with the following additions and modifications:
- Metadata for profiles:
- The implementation of metadata for profiles makes it possible to tag profiles in the DefaultBook, which are then reported in the portfolio and decision tree profiles report in the same way the already existing metadata for projects operate.
Updates
- Modified behavior of portfolio contents:
- The contents of portfolios are now independent analyses, not a link to an existing analysis on root on the project list.
- This has been implemented to reduce complexity and confusion.
- Dragging a project into a portfolio will now create a copy of the project.
- Per-project reports are made available within a portfolio.
- When calculating a portfolio, it is possible to open the reports of subanalyses.
- The contents of portfolios are now independent analyses, not a link to an existing analysis on root on the project list.
- The IRR calculation algorithm has been replaced.
- The new algorithm is better at finding the most relevant IRR: finding a positive IRR closest to 0 is prioritized. It also handles edge cases near the tolerance limit better than previous versions. If IRR is beyond the lower or upper boundary, the IRR value is not reported.
- Cost projects in decision trees have been removed for methodical reasons.
- Visual enhancements have been made to the Cashflow report, including not resetting the zoom when recalculating an analysis and the report is open.
- User base prices have been removed from custom price sets.
- The Cashflow and Profiles reports now start in the “Start NPV year” that is defined in the analysis parameters.
- Tutorials have been added to a new section in the Start window.
- A “Blank” UDR template has been added as part of the example configuration files.
- New variables have been added to User defined reports:
- first data year and last data year
- real-to-nominal and nominal-to-real conversions profiles per currency
- Please see the “User defined report” chapter in the reference manual for more details.
- The Area column in the portfolio and decision tree profiles report has been renamed to Tax area.
- The example tax regime calculation file for Norway Upstream has been updated with tax rules as of the year 2025.
- Major back system updates of the software have been done to keep up with the latest platform.
- The program now requires .NET version N to run.
Bug Fixes
- Corrected an issue that occurred when deleting depreciations in the DefaultBook.
- Now these depreciations will also be deleted from depreciable profiles when opening older projects from disk.
- Other minor updates and bug fixes.
