New features and functionality

• The new Arcast Database™ product is now available as an optional add-on to the Arcast® software. Arcast Database is a version-control system for storing and tracking changes to projects, decision trees, portfolios, and configuration files within the organization.
  • Instead of users saving such files to disk, these may now be checked in and stored in the database, where all history is accessible through browsing or searching.
  • When checking in projects, decision trees, and portfolios, all input data is stored in the database, including metadata, check-in date, and which user performed the check-in.
  • Users may build their own folder structures in the database where content is to be stored.
  • The Arcast Database product is available as an on-premises installation and comes with a web-based administrator portal where administrators can create and manage users and groups.
  • The database functionality is seamlessly integrated into the flagship Arcast software: Users can set permissions at the folder level by granting Read and/or Write access to specific user groups defined by the administrator.

Updates

• Updated the Portfolio editor to display subportfolios.
  • Any subportfolios in the portfolio are now displayed as items along with their contents hierarchically.
• Added the optional ability to have several Assumptions configuration files.
  • This is useful when there is a large number of sheets per file. It also reduces the size of each file.
  • This can be done by making a new folder named “Assumptions” in the Arcast Config folder and placing Assumptions files within the folder. Please see the “Assumptions” chapter in the reference manual for more details.
  • The Economic assumptions view is updated accordingly with a cascading dropdown menu. When changing the global Assumptions used in Arcast, the user can now first select the file followed by the desired sheet from the selected file. 
• Added horizontal scrolling using the secondary mouse scroll wheel for computer mice that have two scroll wheels.
• Added discount rate set Rate 1 as part of the Project setting step in the project import functionality.
• Enhanced navigation when working in the decision tree editor.
  • Users can click-and-hold the right mouse button and then drag the mouse to navigate (pan) in the tree canvas.
  • It is possible to use the mouse scroll wheel to scroll up and down in the tree canvas.
  • Users can press and hold the Ctrl key while scrolling the mouse wheel to zoom in and out in the tree canvas.
  • Scrollbars in the decision tree editor have been removed due to these three new functions.
• The new Recenter tree function is available in the right-click menu in the decision tree editor, which makes it possible to reset the zoom and move the view in the tree canvas to the root node of the decision tree.

Bug fixes

• Corrected an issue with defining units in DefaultBook containing a space as part of the name of the unit.
  • Now it is possible to add new units that have spaces in the name, such as “My new unit”, for example.
